Yuanfan wins Casagrande Competition

On 17th September 2022, Yuanfan was awarded 1st Prize and the Audience Prize of the 32nd Edition of the Alessandro Casagrande International Piano Competition, becoming the first ever British winner in its history.

The competition is the most important piano competition in Italy (after the Busoni), held regularly since 1966.

Following four solo rounds, Yuanfan performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Abruzzese Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Marco Boni.

The jury was chaired by Carlo Guaitoli (Italy), consisting of Enrica Ciccarelli (Italy), Romain Descharmes (France), Yuka Imamine (Japan), Piers Lane (Australia), Roland Pöntinen (Sweden), Jerome Rose (USA).

According to Concertisti Classica, Yuanfan Yang will give a concert tour at prestigious musical venues in Italy and abroad, including: Società dei Concerti di Milano, IUC-Istituzione Universitaria Concerti di Roma, Fazioli Concert Hall in Sacile, Italian Musical Youth, Lingotto Musica Association of Turin, Abruzzese Symphonic Orchestra, Umbrian Philharmonic Association, Friends of Music of Foligno, Municipal Theater of Carpi, Emilia Romagna Festival, "Anna Jervolino" Musical Association of Caserta, Festival du Vigan (France).
