World Premiere of 'Ancient Sculptures' (plus Granados + Ravel)
I would like to warmly invite you to a FREE lunchtime concert at the Royal Academy of Music's David Josefowitz Recital Hall tomorrow (10th October 2017) at 13:05, where I shall be performing two enchanting works by Granados and Ravel, as well as giving the world premiere of my new set of pieces for solo piano 'Ancient Sculptures'.
It will be very special to be performing the 'El amor y la muerte' by Granados tomorrow, since this year is his 150th birthday. To complement the 'Spanish flavour', my recital will end with the Spanish-influenced 'Alborada del gracioso' by Ravel.
Sandwiched inbetween these two works will be my new 'Ancient Sculptures', which are all based on musical forms/genres of the Renaissance and Baroque eras (the movements are subtitled 'Toccatina', 'Organum', 'Ostinato', 'Chorale', and 'Canzona' respectively), but the musical language and content is original - it was a very rewarding and stimulating musical challenge to take some old forms and try to create something new and innovative with it!
Some more information about the free concert here. No tickets required - just turn up!
I'm looking forward immensely to seeing you there tomorrow!
