Back by popular demand following the success of his concert here last year, Yuanfan returns to the Bedwyn Music Society for another sparkling evening recital featuring his signature improvisations. Programme to be announced.

A very special concert curated by Yuanfan to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Wakefield Concert Society.

Programme to include the world premiere of the complete edition of Yuanfan Yang’s Piano Concerto No. 4, together with the world renowned Orchestra of Opera North, conducted by Stephen Threlfall.

Initially world-premiered in Berlin in June 2023 and subsequently toured around Germany, the evening will also feature the UK premiere of Yuanfan Yang’s Duo Sonata de Charme, performed by Christopher Newton (violin) and Jasmine Blackshaw-Britton (cello).

Yuanfan will also perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466 with the orchestra, as well some solo works and improvisations.

The concert will feature one of Schubert's final poetic masterpieces, Bartok's rustic and folk-infused Piano Sonata, and a second-half dedicated to a mini water-based programme where each piece will flow without a break into one another (just like water!) and linked by key.

Yuanfan gives a special performance and workshop for A Level Music students in Leeds taking the AQA 19th Century Piano Music Module. He will perform and talk about the following pieces:

The concert is preceded by a masterclass at 16:15 given by Yuanfan to students of the Latymer Upper School.

Yuanfan returns to the Wharfedale Festival in his ambassadorial role to give a full evening recital.

The concert also features two young pianists who are winners of the Dame Fanny Waterman Medals at the Wharfedale Festival.
